During this time America was fighting for its independence from the British, The political changes were that we held two continental congresses, the deceleration of independence was written, the articles of confederation were written and new state governments were made. The continental congresses were held to figure out how to deal with Britain. The deceleration of independence was a document that said America was independent from Britain. The articles of confederation was being written at the same time as the deceleration of independence and was the first constitution of the united states. The articles had many problems like the government could not tax, money was different in each state and debtors. Shay's rebellion. After the war most of the states had written there own constitutions.

The social changes were abolition of aristocratic titles, separation of Church and State, women and slaves roles. Aristocrats that had rights dating to medieval Europe were not recognized by the new government, the abolition of aristocratic titles crippled aristocracy in America. The separation of Church and state ended most states from paying religious tax to churches. Women wanted more to be recognized after the war for helping out and wanted to be treated better. Slaves were freed in the North and some in the south after the war for the line "all men are created equal".
The economic changes were that the government owed a lot of war debts, different paper money and high state taxes. The government after the war owed a lot of debt and Britain and Spain said they were going to go after the western land. The states also issued different state paper money, so going from state to state was difficult. The States had high state taxes so a farmer called shay started shay's rebellion to free many people of their debts.
