Comparing America's northern and southern colonies

America's northern and southern colonies were established on preference of climate and business interest. While the northern colonies excelled in the industrial trades such as coal mining, ship building and fishing, exporting and importing of goods and steel trades the southern colonies were mostly agricultural.
There were large plantation and farms specializing in cotton for clothing, corn and other crops for food and cattle and horses for meat and transportation. It took a lot to run the plantations and farms, so because of the size and since profit was the main concern to all slavery was instituted. While many believe the south holds the awful memories of slavery and slave trade most of the slaves were imported through the north in the beginning.

So both the north and the south are at fault. Slavery is not something started in this very new country. It has gone on for generations and generations all over the world. It still exist today in many countries and in many forms. It may be hard to learn from but we must not forget what it did to an entire culture of people. We must continue to fight slavery the world over so everyone is free.
If southern and northern colonies would have worked together to come up with a plan other than greed we would still have the beautiful old plantations today.
