When! (That's Enough!).......
When I was a young lad, Things were so much easier
No stress, no job, no responsibilities,just school
Get smart ,get a job ,decide what to do with your life
These words of wisdom I grew up with,But I was a fool
I ran my own course, without a destination in mind
Never caring or even just wondering what I might find
Running from town to town, job to job
Partying,drinking always acting like a slob

Life ain't over for me yet but I have quite a climb
If I hope to ever be respected or treated responsibly
Sure the thought of never growing up has interested us all

On more then one occasions I would chance to wager eagerly
The world struggles to stay young physically, I did it mentally
Now I am just a fool for not listening while I was in school
Believe me when I complain and act the grumpy elder
Sure it's money but where's the pleasure as a plumber or welder

We can a strike it rich with luck,a job and/or the lottery
Yet we can all be rich in our own special ways
But are only respected when we can pay our own way
Buried deep in the consciousness of everyone of us
Lies a great idea to put us on the proverbial map
Just pray it's not followed by the sting of a lawyer's slap

Chasing the proverbial dream is what were all taught to do
When is enough, enough? when does one decide when were through
The silver lining,the prize at the bottom of life's box
The hunter or trapper in all of us, sneaking up on the old fox
Will the rich ever have enough, will me,myself ever learn to save
Will I ever control the trappings, which I do truly still crave

Take hold of the horns of the biggest bull you can find
Feel the power that he possesses,the strength behind it says it all
When one never tries then one never has the chance to fall
The fear lives within us all,instilled to keep us from being different
Grow through your pains, out grow them before it's time to pay rent
The point to life is to blend in not stick to far out
Like the peas in a pod,it makes me just want to shout

With the education, things do come easier then if you try without
Be sure to always be in control of your actions and your mind
The the knowledge and respect will you surely find
I try not to preach, just to suggest
A couple ideas that may turn out for the best
I did my best to stay young forever
But I see now that wasn't very clever
Eyes on the road ahead,both hands on the stick
Keep your mind clear and don't let your skin get too thick.
