Bankable Benefits: Why I Love Bed, Bath and Beyond
With coupons clutched firmly in hand, Mr. S and I sashay into our favorite Bed, Bath and Beyond for our bi-weekly shopping date. Our current mission is to collect one towel set in every color they carry.
It took us a while to learn how generous the store's coupon policy is. Mr. S is a thrifty soul, you see, so picture the horrified look on his face when he handed the cashier a coupon and noticed it had expired a couple of days earlier. The smiling cashier exchanged knowing looks with me and turned to my harried husband, "Don't worry, sir. We accept outdated coupons, competitors' coupons and even multiple coupons. And" she paused for emphasis, "the 20% discount always applies to the most expensive item in your order."
I've never seen a broader smile on Mr. S's face. As the cashier rang up our purchases, he turned to me, mouthing, "Can we adopt her?" I just patted his hand and reached for his wallet.
If you're ever down in Arlington, Texas, stop in some Saturday morning and look for us. Mr. S. will be the walking pile of colored terry cloth with clusters of coupons sticking out from the folds.
We may not burn the candles at both ends anymore (we actually buy lots of quality candles at B, B and B), but we love our Saturday dates.
Cupid and coupons what a combo!
