How to Make Iced Coffee
It's a hot day. You want a coffee, but its just too hot. You could get into your car and find a coffee shop, but the car is hot too. Why not make your own Iced Coffee? It's easy to do. Read on to find out how.
Steps:
Method 1
Brew your hot fresh coffee. The strength of the brew depends on the ice cubes you use. If you are using plain water ice cubes, make the coffee a little stronger to make up for the melting ice.
Transfer your freshly brewed coffee into a carafe (A bottle with a stopper for serving liquid).
Let the freshly brewed coffee cool to room temperature (approximately 1 hour), then move into the refrigerator for a further 2 hours. *See Warnings(below).
Fill a tall glass with coffee, ice cubes, and milk as preferred.
Then stir and serve.
Method 2
Pour about a cup of freshly brewed coffee into a blender
Add crushed ice.
Add 1/4 cup of milk.
Hit blend.
Add a couple tablespoons of sugar for an extra sweet taste. (or whatever amount you prefer).
Blend again.
Tips
An extra touch would be to have coffee ice cubes prepared the day before. This helps keep the flavour balanced while the ice melts.
If you prefer sugar with your iced coffee, mix it in while the coffee is hot, as it will blend better.
Warnings
Do not put a hot coffee pot directly into the refrigerator, the glass may crack, spilling coffee inside your refrigerator
Iced Coffee
Since the coffee is generally diluted with milk or cream it should be very strong; therefore increase the proportion of coffee. Put a little crushed ice into each glass, add about 2/3 very cold coffee, the fill with cold milk or thin cream; or use milk, and top the glass with thick cream and a little grated plain chocolate. When topped with cream serve with a long spoon.
