Whatever you sell, whether you are the manufacturer or reseller, you have a target market. This is similar to a target audience for a writer. Your customers, whether you sell words or merchandise, such as toys or jewelry or electronics, you have a target market-or a target audience.
What is it that you are selling?
Let's say you want to sell miniature Japanese toys?
You don't just sell miniature Japanese toys to anybody?
Make a list. Who is your target market?
Children who like miniature toys.
Collectors of toys, including miniatures.
Vending machine sales people.
Gift shops.
Toy stores.
After you decide upon your product-and it must be a product that you want to sell and that you know others want to buy-then make a list similar to the above list of your target market.
Then you must have an advertising budget. If you have little or no money for advertising, then you must make a list of free and/or low-cost ads.
Flyers.
Brochures.
Free newsletter ads.
Emails.
Free Press releases.
Word of mouth.
Therefore, you make a list of the type of advertising that you are going to do to promote your product.
Schedule.
You must have a schedule in which you select your products and a schedule of promoting your products.
If you have joined an affiliate program, then you promote your affiliate link.
In addition, you should consider writing articles about Japanese miniature toys. These articles should be published on paying markets-online and offline. These can be informational articles and advertising articles. Writing these articles helps you to become an expert on Japanese miniature toys, their history, and the marketing of them. These articles also help you to recruit subaffiliates. These articles, written for Associated Content, Helium, and/or Triond also guarantee that there is some income from this work. In addition, write ebooks and booklets about Japanese minature toys, which you can self-publish and/or publish with a commercial press.
The work that you do, writing and marketing, should be centered around the marketing of Japanese miniature toys. In addition, you might decide to add miniature toys from other countries, including international miniatures. You might start manufacturing miniature toys yourself.
However, everything is centered around Japanese miniature toys and miniature toys in general.
Continue to define, redefine and sell to your target audience(s) or your target market(s).
