Here I am standing on the road in the middle of the night
A proud 200 all gleaming and bright.
Me and my friend had some fun today
We beat a BMW we were off and away
We drove down the high street not trying to look cool
But I saw a chaved up Corsa I thought..what a fool!
As I passed a shop window I caught sight of my wheels
I got such a nice feeling you know how that feels
My friend is good to me he buys me nice things
Noisy exhausts, new seats and stuff he says blings
Although we have fun together my friend treats me fine
He cleans me and polishes me and my inside smells of pine
I sit here on my own and think of today
And how every time he left me he would look admiringly my way
So for now I'll wait here and be nice and quiet
But tomorrow on the motorway I'll be causing a riot
I'll cruise past the cars costing 10 times as much
And if they start crying I'll laugh and say."Hush"
We'll head out into the country in style and flair
And pick up my friends girl I think she's called Claire.
Then off we'll go to our favourite tune
And drive until night and the light of the moon
So here I am standing on the road in the middle of the night
A proud 200 all gleaming and bright.

Poetry: Cars
The pink Studebaker sits abandoned in tall grass beside the barn.
The car was in the will, a final connection to their father.
Fast cars, slow cars
Cars with ugly drivers at the wheels
Friendly cars, busy cars
Some serenely drive while others peel

The road is often gray...
with a broken white line
in the middle,
separating, to avoid
