Mickey Mantle was an amazing Baseball player.I grew up in New York state and watched him on Television when ever I could. He had great speed on the bases even with the bad legs.He was my favorite player.I listened to him during the Yankee and Cards World Series in the early 60's on Radio.Everyone was quiet when he came up to bat,to see the home run.During the 60's even when the Yanks where in 5th place I waited for Mick to come up to the plate.Home Run was all anyone thought of.If you ever saw Micky at the Stadium you would know how good he was. When he died I died a little too. They can say what they want about Micky Mantles drinking, but there will never be another Mantle. He had power ,speed, and a better then average glove. When I take my kids to the Ball Park I always tell them where Mantle hit the home runs.He will always be missed.
