Where was God on 9/11?

by Laura W

Created on: May 27, 2007

Where was God on 9/11? He was the bystander who pulled someone out of the way to safety when the clouds of debris and dust roared down the streets. He was the one of the firemen carrying the body of the priest that we saw in those terrible pictures.
He was a tireless volunteer who set up food and water stations. He was a doctor or nurse or ambulance attendent who healed the bloodied victims.

He was the voice of compassion in the minds of the stunned widows and widowers of the plane passengers. He was the whisper of reason in the ears of the people sent to organize the mess and chaos.

He was there, holding the hand of someone on the ninetieth floor as they said goodbye to their loved ones on the phone.
He was with the terrified crowds in the stairwells as the buildings fell.

He was even in the hearts of the terrorists, young men foolishly led to believe that what they were doing was HIS will.

He was the courage that drove the men and women of Flight 93 to try to save themselves.

Where do you ask was God that day?
He was everywhere.
