As a former Revenue Officer for the IRS, I have numerous stories burned forever into my memory of one of the worst job choices I have ever made. Fresh out of college and into this job I called hell, I have devoted a Top Ten list why you should file your income taxes each year.
10.) The simple forms they provide you with that any accountant and/or attorney cannot figure out either.
9.) The fun and adventure of meeting all the other procrastinators each 15th of April at the Post Office who waited to the last minute too.
8.) Think of all the illegal immigrants who will benefit from the payment of your taxes this year. They thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
7.) Who doesn't have time to sit on the phone for an hour and a half listening to a pre-recorded message telling them their call is very important and someone will be right with them?
6.) Nothing screams fun like taking the family to your local IRS Office to visit with the ever so friendly staff!
5.) Without your return, how are we going to be able to garnish your paycheck, auction off your house and ruin your life? File now!
4.) Better odds than the lottery! That is, you have better odds of being audited than winning the lottery when you file your return.
3.) With the advanced technology available, now almost everyone can file electronically. This is great news that allows the IRS to levy your wages and padlock your business even quicker now. Great!
2.) Refunds! Refunds! Refunds! See how much fun you have when you get back a few hundred dollars out of the thousands that you paid all year!
1.) Filing your return increases your chances at heaven. Without your return, the IRS would have to trim their Revenue Officers, therby allowing more room in Hell for the rest of us. Keep'em busy America!
