Tips for booking a hotel online

Something very important, but often overlooked in a race for price when booking hotels online, is location. It is hard to find a hotel a hotel where you need it to be, especially in cities you are unfamiliar with. How many times have you clicked one-by-one on hundreds of potential hotels trying to find out exactly where they are? This process is time consuming and frustrating.

Staycloser.com have introduced a new concept in locating and booking hotels, hotel maps. When you arrive at the website you are presented with a map of the world, and lists of countries. You can quickly navigate using the map or the lists, and locate the destination of your choice.
Once there, the map shows you the location of hotels in that destination. Hovering the mouse over the markers on the map presents you with the hotel name. Clicking on a marker gives you more options.

Underneath the map, when you are at city level, is also a list of all the hotels available and their prices. You can quickly compare these with those on the map and when you have made a choice, booking is available at discounted rates.

You are under no obligation to book your hotel from them either of course. I have used the Staycloser.com hotel maps numerous times and compared their prices with many other hotel websites that I regularly used in the past and have seldom found a better price. All reservations I have made have been perfectly executed, with no hidden fees or nasty surprises.

But the most brilliant feature of the site, is the ease with which I can quickly find a hotel exactly where I need it.
