Too Many Times
Too many times
Have I let my insecurities
Over power my life
Because of the lack of confidence
I have in myself
Convincing myself that if you really loved me
That you would hold on tight
And never let go
And in fact let go of everyone else
But what kind of love would that be
Making you trade one life for another
When you can just create one together
I have failed you and at the same time myself
Love gone wrong has made me weak
And untrusting
But making you pay for someone else's mistakes
Isn't the way to move on
And certainly not the way to let go
I will get better
I messed up so many times before
But only you are worth trying for
And only you are worth changing for
Too many times
Have I used words that crucify you
"if", "might" in negative ways
Making you out to be evil
Waiting for something bad to happen
But no longer will I
You will not hurt me
I love you in unbelievable ways
Which scares me
Its so much so fast
But true all the same
