Making It
I made it
I never thought I would
But I hid that from myself
I told myself "yes I can"
And I did
I felt like I was alone
Everyone telling me I was crazy
That I would do what I had to do
But I did
And I made it on my own
Tonight I will drink to my success
And all that said I could make it
Won't be here tonight
I had to let them go
I didn't want to say "I told you so"
Even though I said
What they said was impossible
Success can be lonely
When the friends you thought you had
Suddenly aren't your friends anymore
Then you realize that you are stronger
Then you ever thought you could be

She's Gone, But Not Forgotten

My Own Arms
Here inside four walls
resting in my chair

I took for granted
They flow in pairs
they walk in light
I sit alone
in a cold, dark night
I call out
but my cries lack sound
I have no voice
no words
