Weeping For Me

I sit in the midst of this lush paradise
In the shade of the dancing palm tree
But my hearts in a place far, far away
So this beauty is wasted on me.

I watch the great waves come pounding ashore
Then tamed, they ebb back to sea
As I wonder if they ever touched on the shore
Of the land that is dearest to me.

I'm praying here in this place far from home
And I wonder as I bow the knee
If God will answer my prayer to be gone
To the place that keeps calling to me.

The sun is now gone behind the dark clouds
The trade winds are blowing so free
The whole world I know is caught in my pain
For the heavens are weeping for me.
