Poetry: Family

A Mother's Accomplishment

She drives in the middle of the night to tow a broken down car,
She spends her last dime for you won't go hungry or cold
She gives you a safe place to vent the problems of the day
She goes to every length to ensure you make it
Giving up is/was never an option
Her devotion runs deep
How deep, who really knows.
This is a mother's accomplishment.

Born under a bomb threat, a little girl on a winter's day
How could they ever have known
She'd become autistic along the way
Reaching into the depths of his soul
A strengh would be discovered
For there lie her level of devotion, that surely would see him through .
This is a mother's accomplishment.

Life is short, the dreaded time will come
for all to say good-bye
Although she will be gone
For generations, her love & devotion
Will carry her family through
This is my mother's accomplishment.
