Here are a few tips to help make your gym experience a safe one:
Take a bottle of water with you
Always take a bottle of water with you to the gym so if you get thirsty you can stop and have a drink. Not drinking enough can make you feel weak and ruin your workout
Take a towel with you to the gym
Always take a towel with you to the gym. A lot of gym users sweat all the time in the gym and it's a good idea to wipe down the machines and equipment before you use them as this will stop you slipping and avoid causing you an injury
Wear sweatbands around your head and armbands on your wrists
As you sweat a lot when you go to the gym and workout it's a good idea to wear some kind of toweling sweatbands. This will stop sweat dripping from your hair and into your eyes or from your hands on to the handle bars and equipment bases when you exercise.
Stop if you're in pain or feel tired
It's a good idea to rest for a minute if you find an exercise too hard, painful or feel you're muscles are too tired to continue. This way you will give your body some time to recharge it's energy levels. Otherwise you may get cramps or cause yourself some other kind of injury
Know your space
Try to make sure you don't leave your things lying around you or in anyone else's way. Tripping up in a crowded gym can be a common thing and it can cause someone a serious injury.
Know your limitations
Don't overdo any exercise or use too heavy weights. Try to exercise as much as you can and use weights you feel comfortable with. Overstraining the muscles can cause injurieds or torn ligaments and this could cause you a setback in your fitness training
