How to improve the number of African-American students entering college

American educators is becoming an increasing demand because of the fact that it is taking some student way to long to achieve degrees in order to teach. African American students enter college and is sent to a five year process, or a route which the class load or requirements are to much for them to hand. My freshman year in Oregon I was taking upper level classes, and didn't know how to get that extra support need in the departments. I did get a lot of support coming from the english department, creating my lust for writing. I Feel African American teachers can understand the amount of pressure, income problems, work over load, and lack of support base coming from African American students. That is why in the south a lot of the student have high turn-out rates because the teacher have the same racial ties, and can understand thier struggles. In to a point because they had those same struggles. You see that in the majority dominated area in college those students do well is because some of them get the aid that they need and they are not coming from a low income home, they are set up to get more because of thier house hold baking. So you are getting more or less because of the community you come from. If the African American Community had more teachers in the lower parts of the school systems, and had the same fund the as the counter parts, with social development then maybe more kids will have endeavor that lead them to college.
