Should we even debate the nanny cams? Why,for all of sudden, are we so concern about "Nannie's rights", but not the babies they are watching?
If you think, that the title "nanny" automatically makes them a reliable loving, caring person, think again.
Just get a reality check and watch the news. I assure you, that after you'll get your daily dose of shucker, you'll will rung and by the camera.
Are all parents able to screen the nannies, that they are hiring, even the agencies don't screen the nannies well enough, believe me.
At most cases, it's impossible to screen some mental problems, that caregivers may have or a history of sexual abuse, if it's not recorded with the police, there is no way, you can check it, unless, nannies undergo the psychiatric evaluation.
Do you think parents will be given the psychiatric evaluation to all the candidates/ May be agencies should.
From my experience, working in the childcare industry, I think the teachers and caregivers at the childcare, should undergo evaluation too.
They should be given the "love and tolerance" test to figure out their tolerance level to determine, if they wont flip out on a child, in case child is crying and getting on their last nerve.
Parents are leaving their most precious possessions in the hands of total strangers and then have no control what so ever of what those strangers are doing with their children behind closed doors; absolutely none. Because they are not there. The same thing is with the childcare centers. In most cases then none, childcare centers employees are negligent, abusive and careless. In my more then 20 years of experience in a field, I can name only a few teachers, caregivers, that I would trust my own child to, more less somebody else's children, I can count them on my fingers.
Abuse and neglect is common place among the childcare staff and they are being watched by the administrators, in most cases anyway. So what to say about the nannies, who are being one-on-one with the child or even worse with the baby. Who is watching them? nobody, unless there is a camera.
Hiring the right nanny or a babysitter is the most controversial and complicated dilemma, that millions of people are facing everyday. It brings more hearts ace, then anything else.
You know, if the world would be that ideal place, where people love each other and are trustworthy, kind and so on, then we could of talk about "rights", and all that. however, the reality is more cruel, then we wont even imagine, therefore, let's get our priorities shifted in the right direction and take care of the most precious, our children.
You always can have an opportunity to be "politically correct", but you may never have the chance to undo the hurt and harm, that's done to your child.
