Rain ....It rained today...but then i live in England,so nothing new there then!
Here in England we have become quite fond of rain, are you mad? i hear you say,but of course i am English.Rain is rain, you may add,not so, there are different types of rain. These types of rain make England ,and, the English, what they are ,today,WET....
TYPE ONE....DRIZZLE..
This type of rain hangs in the wind, then whoosh, straight in the face. This can be fatal if wearing glasses, one second you are on the pavement(sidewalk),the next you are in the middle of the road,oh dear...
TYPE TWO....FINE..
Now this type is sly, when you look out of the window,it pretends it is not really raining at all,one minute and you are totally soaked..
TYPE THREE....HEAVY..
You would think that this would be easy to spot, big dark clouds hanging overhead, yes, but, they pass by,out you go,hundred yards down the road, splosh!
soaked to the skin. The clever ones take a brolly(umbrella),well there clever for a short while, where does that gale force wind come from?brolly inside out ,put it in the nearest litter bin..
TYPE FOUR....SHOWERY..
Showers..April showers,April showers except that we get them in ,well April,May,June,July,August,September,October,Novembe r,December,January,February and the whole of March.if a shower does not get you when you go out the first time it will get you on the way back again, and again and again and again, you get the picture?
Why are the English fond of rain?i don't know really..perhaps it is the challenge of dodging it every other day, still,we would not be with out it .LONG MAY IT RAIN..JUST LIKE THE QUEEN.
