Concentration. Same sex schools can play havoc with it when it belongs to a hormonal child on the brink of acquiring the body and feelings of an adult.

It is unfortunate that just as a child starts to turn into an adult and their bodies and feelings change, they are required to pack their brains with knowledge and complete exams that may affect their future success.

In same sex schools the children who are developing fast are distracted by members of the opposite sex. They in turn distract other well behaved pupils who haven't yet begun to otherwise notice the opposite gender. In this way nobody wins. They are unable to complete their education fully and really take information in because they are either being flirted with or taunted , or are the ones flirting and taunting others.

In single-sex schools the children have more time and attention to spend on actual school work. They can look forward to a brighter future with the possibility of higher earnings ahead of them.

There is plenty of time to discover the opposite sex out of school where this type of growing up is more suitable to take place.

Also boys and girls tend to learn and mature at different stages and schools that are mixed cannot really accommodate this in-order to suit both boys and girls. If they were schooled separately then the lessons could be set according to the particular level of learning that is required. This would prevent some children from being left behind and others from being held back.
