What did i miss?

How can i sit here and not know i
will see the day before i die,
A puzzle it seems to wander is..
What have i done? What did i miss?
The sun, the rain, the clouds float by
the morning dew that lingers nigh,
the mechanical nature that makes us rise
the want for light from darkened skies,
a need for comfort when we are low,
a time when it's best not to know,
taste of something yet to come
a sense of feeling time has come,
Her first, her last, that lingering kiss
again i ask what did i miss?

I'm missing nothing, living life!
the skies are clear, sharp as a knife,
Now riding to adventure it's begun
this journey called life is on the run,
Marriage, Children, Families grow
acceptance of all, never NO!
Friends embracing this great day
we know at last it's here to stay!
working hard to seize that chance,
find no faults with just a glance,
slowing down the race is won
passing knowledge to daughter, son
It's not over we insist
Again i ask, What did i miss!
