Some goodbyes are hard to do;
some are easy, even sought.
My hardest was losing you,
with the awful pain it brought.
It is a very long goodbye.
Nor is it almost over yet
because I still ask why
in fear I shall too soon forget.

since you left and took your
noises and scents and bones
and promises of evermore.
Though it's an alien building now
you still call from our old rooms
so clear, if asked, I'll vow
I will surely see you soon!
