People have been known to have collections on just about everything. You can find people with huge DVD collections, people with toy figure collections, old record collections. Anything you can think of someone probably has a collection of it. Why do people have these collections though? Is it the joy of saying that they possibly have the most or the best of their favorite product or collection. If it just because they are planning on using all of their collection that they have? I am one of these people with a gigantic collection, and I honestly don't know the real reason I have such a big collection. My collection is made up of hundreds of DVD's.
Some people have been increasing their collections over years. For example people that have been collecting records, have been doing it for years, because the records have been out for years. Now a days it's hard to even find something to play those records, so why do people still collect them? Could it be that one day they are hoping to sell them if they were ever in a bind? Some people also love to pass things on to their kids, but records would be a little different, because kids are more into CD's and MP3 Players, and not old outdated records.
Another collection that is actually kind of out of the ordinary, but normal for people that are into that sort of thing is the collection of toy figures and comics. Now there really is nothing you can do with these things, because many people leave them in their originally packaging to keep the integrity of the product. I think the only reason that people keep these types of collection, is one because they like to impress other people that are into that sort of thing. If someone has a gigantic collection of Spiderman figures, any other Spiderman lover would be a little jealous of that person's collection. The only other reason I could think of is that these people would do the same as record collectors when they were in a bind. The keep the originally packaging to keep the price high, and if they were ever in a bind they could sell the figures for a pretty impressive sum.
Now people collect everything. There are collections of key chains, coins, and just about everything else. I am one of those people with a collection. My collection is of DVD's. Any chance I get to purchase a DVD, I take advantage of it. I honestly can't tell you the real reason that I continually spend money on this collection. I have thought to myself that maybe I could pass my collection on to my kids someday, but why would they want to watch all of these old DVD's. I have also thought that the reason I have this collection is that I would always have something to watch, but these days there is a place to rent DVD's just around the corner for a cheap price.
Almost everyone has probably had some sort of collection sometime or another in their life. A collection can range from anything from DVD's to key chains, to old records. The reason people collect things however is usually different from people to people, and some people don't even know why they do collect things. Some people do it incase they get in a bind later in life, and some just do it for the love of what they are collecting.
