Some tips for great dental health.

Your dental care is very important here is a top ten list with some easy to remember tips.

One reason for great dental health is an award winning smile but what a lot of people do not realize is how poor dental health can effect you in many different ways eating and stomach issues poor self esteem even bad headaches and of coarse server tooth pain and many more well lets try and prevent that on to some tips.

1. brush your teeth after each meal if it is possible but at least 2 times a day and if you have extra time take note that you have hit each and every tooth in a up and down motion especially with your evening brushing.

2. floss at least once a day or after meals if you can be sure to try to do it before bed I cant stress how important it is to floss, examples gum issues and the bone loss at the bottom of the teeth and then tooth loss will be an issue this also causes problems with controlling bad breath . If you can try to keep mouth moist at night and the best way I have found is breath right strips that you place on your nose it will help you to close your mouth when sleeping the reason for this is is your gums could get very dry and can cause bleeding gums and breath issues.

3.have a proper tooth brush ask your dentist what is best for you soft bristle or hard and change your tooth brush every few months
4.you can kill extra bacteria by brushing your tongue as well as sides and roof of your mouth.

5. use fluoride tooth paste and if you have sensitive teeth never use whitening tooth paste it will only cause the sensitivity to be worse and the fluoride tooth paste helps with enamel where others without do not.
6. rince with a mouth wash that kills germs and bacteria and has fluoride this extra bit of care is important we all tend to rush but if you can take that moment to really swish a rinse around it will kill a lot of those missed germs and bacteria.

7. often drinking water has fluoride already in it and always drink plenty it is wonderful for your health in many ways.

8. calcium or calcium vitamins wont only help your teeth but of coarse your bones as well and for children vitamins that have fluoride in them wont hurt as part of there morning routine they actually give that little extra care and good health for a future of great smiles.

9. Try and keep sugary sticky food to a minimum cut back if you can the more sticky and chewy the treat the worse it is it can stay stuck in your back teeth until you have time to brush.

10. make sure you see your dentist twice a year if you can but at least once a year it is very important for a check up and thorough cleaning.

As I said earlier flossing is important I wanted to make note of the fact there are so many new tiny gadgets to help with gum care ask your dentist he will probably be glad to have you try a few different ones to see what is the most comfortable for you remember your gums are just as important as your teeth. keep smiling.
