As the Bible says...."faith without works is dead." If you have faith, but have no "works" then you have not faith. You have to have faith in order to believe that there is a higher power that exists. Your faith in that higher power is what enables you to make everyday decisions. To smoke or not to smoke...to drink or not to drink...to kill or not to kill? The list can go on and on. So when it comes to your vote, why wouldn't your faith influence your decision? It should definitely influence who you are going to vote for and you should also do your research and determine if the person that you are voting for, has the same faith that you do. Why would you vote for someone not knowing what their faith is, if you yourself are a person of faith?
If your faith says that murder is a sin, would you vote for someone that is in favor of abortion? If your faith says that homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord, would you then vote for someone who is in favor of gay marriage? The answers to these questions are simple, not at all hard to figure out. So when it comes to voting, your faith should definitely have a major influence.
