A child enjoying the wonders of camp, a healthy child of this world, a child with all of Gods blessings. The breath of life, the ease in there step, the way a child can be with out a difficult disease, such as Cystic Fibrosis.

My beloved sister, was afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis, and in this life, she struggled every day. However, there was a place she could go, a very sacred place, to meet up with her friends, a camp just for her. Cystic Fibrosis camp, almost just the same as an ordinary camp, but with the necessary medical staff, was the very best part, of her short life of 14 years.

Every summer we would get in the car, and drive, my sister to camp. she would be so excited to again see her friends from last years adventure. The possibilities were endless for her, she could be just as a normal child, and with others that were in the same battle. Together they would form a bond, unlike any other. A bond of the heart, a bond pf physical being, a bond of friendship. No longer were they pin pointed as being different than the rest of the children, they were free from that. and together the camp was one big exciting new event, that all children afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis should go too.

I lost my sister in 1987 to this disease, but the memories of her smile when we left her at camp, will be in my eyes and soul forever. The breath of life is more about breathing the love of family in a world full of others who are a part of it. The breath of a family of the Cystic Fibrosis Kids, a special bond, were the dreams and lungs can be filled with the crystal clear air of happiness. I am so fortunate to have had those days to remember of my sister, the bad days almost over ride, the good times for her. At camp the happiness shined threw for her, and that made me so happy.
