Internet window is a form of advertising. It is just like advertising on the TV or cinema screen. One is under no obligation to this. Sometimes there is some relevant information to some people and it may benefit them.

If one is comfortable in allowing displaying of advertisements in a corner of one's screen, then this could be another form of passive income to him, whatever the amount. To let advertisements display on one's computer is the only requirement.
