Facts about AIDS among the African-American population

by Ken Guy

So much Hype and boring facts and figures are written and spoken about the subjects of AIDS among the African American people as if it is just another one of the crimes attributed to this hapless population.

The truth is that the so called "African American people," I hate that derogatory phrase, are victims of this disease as much as they were victims of poor socio economic conditions, as much as they were victims of poor schooling, poverty and job discrimination. The fact is that many of the Blacks in America generally see themselves as "Victims" period.

It's not new this feeling of victimisation. The Jews have been victims for centuries, as were the Christians and the ., need I go on.

Aids, being more specific to the Black population has a number of roots, most of them going back to these same socio economic conditions. But lets go back first to the beginning of Aids to discover why this should be so.

In certain African Countries, South Africa being one, it was decreed by past rulers, King Chaka Zulu for example, that a girl must remain a virgin until she married. This posed a big problem for the African men, particularly as most of them were warriors, often on the move. Chaka himself was not particularly concerned because the only woman he wanted was his Mother. But dissension set in and the rules were amended. He then decreed that a warrior of the King could demand satisfaction from any unmarried woman provided she retained her virginity. A girl who lost her intact hymen was also likely to lose her life, so this rule was generally followed and still remains in the minds of Zulu girls today.

It is believed that HIV Aids started in Zaire in a colony of monkeys. Some tribes of the area eat monkeys, and it is supposed that this was how the virus first infected man, though bestiality has also been mooted.
With the advent of good roads and mechanised transport it is now possible to criss-cross the African continent in a matter of days, and this is how the virus was spread far and wide. The successful South African economy ensured that most of the traffic travelled via that country and consequently the relative wealth of the South African truck drivers bought them many favours from previously isolated tribes-people, the most significant one being the HIV virus.

The long standing culture of the South African blacks ensured that the young girls were affected via the unnatural process of buggering, which enabled them to please their boyfriends and still remain virgins, and as the anus is easily damaged this method of sex is highly likely to spread the disease via contusions in the interior linings. Hence the high prevalence of AIDs among homosexuals.
Many sexual deviants prey on the poverty of these African Nations and consequently return home with an AIDS infection, and as these people are already living on the edge of society some end up behind bars.

The Black population of America were denied a good education for a long time, just as the blacks in South Africa were under the apartheid government, and crime often becomes the favoured option for uneducated jobless people.
Prison breeds homosexuality and incarceration spells the death sentence for many men, who become victims of rape and prison tattoos and become infected in that way. These men, when released, spread the disease like wildfire among both men and women alike.

The higher crime numbers among the blacks in America will ensure a higher degree of AIDS infection.
