The answer is such a straightforward one that I don't think any taxpayer will actually vote in favour of a "Yes".
Politicians in general earn more much than a normal employee would and thus I see no such need for them to accept dinners, vacations and other "gifts", whatever they may be. They are being elected by the citizens to run the country and ensure that the country political scene is well in place.
By accepting gifts and favours from lobbyists and supporters, to me is tantamount to bribery and that is definitely not acceptable. In fact, the politicians should be the ones to share their wealth with the supporters by giving them a good treat in return for their support and to show their appreciation as well.
Anyway, it is a known fact that politicians are not supposed to accept gifts and favours from anyone in order to avoid a conflict of interest. By accepting these favours and gifts, the politicians may not be able to give an impartial stand on some issues and thus result in unfair judgements to be passed.
Therefore, I strongly oppose that politicians should accept dinners, vacations and other "gifts" from lobbyists and supporters.
