The whole idea that we are still fighting for equal rights and that we haven't gotten enough is leading to a sad trend of spoiled rotten women!
I took a feminist class in college and saw how women have had it bad in the past. But as of the twenty-first century we have it pretty darn good in the USA and in other first world countries.
I personally don't believe in feminism. I believe in equality for everyone. People are still discriminated against, people are still refused jobs, people are still stereotyped, but that isn't going to change. Utopia will never exist until humans evolve more.
Women are now the ones graduating from colleges at higher rates than men.
Women have the right to vote, the right to kill an unborn child in their womb, the right to do marry as they please, and run for president. Where are we unequal?
There are very few places where women are treated unequally, a few places like jobs that are mainly dominated by men still linger here and there, but for the most part women are not being discriminated against because of their gender.
I know there are plenty of women who make bad managers, but then there are just as many bad male managers. It doesn't have to do with gender it has to do with the people themselves.
Women when married now expect more from their husbands than any generation in the past. We are expecting men to work long hours, then come home clean, cook, take care of the kids and still have time to talk to us for hours on end. Housewives complain they have it so rough, but really do we? Yeah we don't get paid in money for what we do, but we are paid through having roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, and clothes on our backs. Yet we feel we have the right to deny our husbands physical pleasure since he doesn't do enough, because it is our right.
A woman can get pregnant with a man's child and abort it without ever telling him. Is that fair to the man? "But they can have hundreds of other babies and they don't have to be pregnant for nine months." This is the argument presented by today's liberal feminist. My response to that is the woman has a choice to either use several methods of birth control to ensure she doesn't get pregnant or don't spread her legs!
Women have the right to sleep with as many men as she pleases, because men have done it all along why can't we. But then we get mad at people like Don Imus for calling women "ho's", well aren't we?
Women complain that we need to change the language to be less sexists, so now in stead of saying mankind, we say humankind. Instead of saying police man, we say police officer. Instead of staying congressman as a general reference, we just say the congress, or senators. We speak in a gender neutral language, but really has it made much of a difference? Women are still women, men are still men and we are fighting over stupid words!
When do we say enough is enough and that the cause that we are fighting for is now causing more problems than it is solving?
Men are looking at women more and more as the enemy. They are seeing how we have all these minority status things, and they are wondering why women are a minority when we make up half the population.
Does minority status help women in any way? To me, in fact, it says we aren't capable of doing something on our own merit, but that we need a hand out to get where we want to be. Where men on the other hand have to work for what they get and in turn earn it and appreciate it more.
If we want to better humanity as a whole we need to stop seeing things like gender, race, or sexual preference and start seeking equality for every human regardless of what they are.
