The US government is so deep in despair that it doesn't see a way out, and the troops don't see a way out. The people of Iraq are blaming the troops for their horrible lives and are not feeling liberation or the empowerment that was intended. If we stay, this feeling in going to get worse. I'm sorry to say that this war, as it is, is going to get way worse before it gets better.

Operation Liberate Iraq has been ill planned from the start. This is a desparate situation which may call for desparate mesures. Pulling out of Iraq will let the US regain it's barings and lift moral for the nation. Just as with any stressful situation one is in, sometimes you need to remove yourself from the situation in order to deal with it properly. One needs to do this to preserve sanity.

However, there is more to just pulling out than leaving quietly without saying goodbye. With their ill planned schemes, the US Government needs to pull out with grace and save some face. One can not leave without planning strategy of what to do next. This strategy need to include helping other countries on the "axis of evil". It will also perserve dignity and sanity for all involved.

Leaving with dignity is not simply cutting the losses and running. That would be silly and would not accomplish anything. We must start making positive relationships with the other countries around Iraq, that are close to Iraq. We must offer any aid we can. By aid, I mean funds, education and training without a divide and conquer attitude. The world is past the stage of divide and conquer, and this kind of attitude is useless in aquiring dignity.

For example (and maybe this is tough for some to swallow) Iran wanting to have nuclear power to provide power and electricity for it's people cheaply should be given aid. Instead of saying "No, that's out of the question", the US government needs to step up and give them every resource available to make that the best power plant in the world whether it be nuclear or otherwise. This aid needs to be given without judgement or finger pointing. This will show people in the area how the US can help the area get better. If the help is denied, the US need not take it personally, and keep offering help on other issues.

The US needs to take an interest in the culture and try participating in it. If the Americans want to help Iraq, they need to start planting helpful seeds in the countries boardering Iraq. Simply having an ambassador stating the Americans are better and richer than you
