The myth of a 'secret' to happiness

a set of parents, and many other things that are part of who we become as a person. Railing against these things or expecting the world to make up for what they consider "unfair" only places them in the hamster cage of life, running, running, running and never getting anywhere.

We need to find contentment in who we are, what we are and where we are at this moment (even as we seek ways to improve). We also must accept that happiness is not something you can achieve every minute of every day. In each life sorrow will come, and happiness will tuck away in a back pocket until the clouds roll away. If you've learned the secret of happiness, you can know it's right there waiting when you need it. Peace on the other hand can stick with you regardless of the circumstances of life. That's where God comes in and knowing it's all part of a plan, creating in us the beauty of a life that has weathered many storms and come out stronger.

Happiness will never be found in wealth and fame, it is found with people, close relationships with God and man and knowing as Paul the apostle how to "have learned, in whatsoever state I am (you are) to be content. (Philippians 4:11kjv) Happiness will arise within us when we stop pursuing it and begin living our lives and filling them with people and relationships, seeking our best, forgiving when wronged, and helping others. This then is the "secret" to happiness. If you "seek" it, you'll probably never find it. If you live your life to the best of your ability: it will find you!
