Why US strategies in Iraq are failing

Bye Bye Miss American Pie...

Those of you who know me have never seen me write of anything political, but at this point, I can't resist my rights to voice my opinion as a US citizen, veteran and good tax payer for many years.

We don't all agree on everything that is going on in this beautiful world but I feel all of us would unanimously agree that we strongly support the brave men and women who wear the uniform of the United States military. These brave folks are following orders, which is the number one obligation of a good soldier. God Bless them and keep them safe.

For the past few years, since the 911 tragic event I have seen the world turn upside down. I personally lost my great career foothold post-911 and have never gotten it back. I was 51 and an Executive VP of a large company and for the past five years have applied for hundreds of jobs only to hear little or nothing. Could it be my age? Damn right it is. Our country's laws do not categorize the over 50s as a minority, so it is free game for the corporations of our country to hire as they wish, young and cheaper MBAs, that look great on paper but have no experience. My work and experience does not come cheap but who cares. Not even me anymore. Boo Hoo. There are perhaps millions of "just like mes" out there. God bless all of us. We now can easily be found selling ice cream bars at theme parks, bagging groceries, working at fast food restaurants. "You want fries with this?"

OK, here are the fries.

Today I read the news headlines on several major Internet news sites.

Our President is proposing reductions in children's health programs, reductions in Medicare, tax breaks for the already wealthy and the list goes on. Why?

I'll tell you why...

Our government needs more money to piss away trying to win a war that we never will win. Remember Nam? I do. A strong willed people wearing black PJs hid underground and picked us off like flies.

This is kind of what is happening to our troops again as told to me by two recent returning Marines. It's like, who is the enemy? Once they ambush our troops, they hide their weapons and go back to their little shops selling whatever, smiling and taking candy from our soldiers as they applaud them when they walk by. Am I making a point here?

This is the priceless loss of my Bye Bye Miss American Pie review.

Now let me talk about your tax money, where it may go and what price may be paid by the long term, hard working Americans, seeming to be comfortably numb these days.

One of those
