Rescued animals make the best pets you will ever have. They make amazing pets. They know they were chosen. It is obvious to them that their life has taken a turn for the better. Once they begin to trust you they are more than willing to show you how grateful they are.
Rescued animals tend to be more affectionate and more protective of their owners. They can come from a shelter, or a friend that can't keep them. Then there are the ones that are found orphaned and you raise from babies. When you hand raise a rescued animal it may make it easier to gain the trust because you are all it has ever known.
I have a rescued cat that is just over a year old now. My oldest daughter found four little kittens that had been orphaned. The next thing her grandparents knew they were bottle feeding all four.
She gave me one of the kitten, one of the girls on her t-ball team got one and she kept two. Well, of her two the twin of mine is still alive. She has Tom and I have Jerry. Leave it to a six year old.
Anyway, I got Jerry when he was a little over a month old. He is like one of my children. He is spoiled and happy. Jerry tends to act like a small child, he whines when he does not get what he wants and shows momma all kinds of love when he does.
The main thing to remember is that rescued animals are often scared when they come to you. Trust has to be built with these animals. Once trust is established rescued animals make the best pets you will ever come across.
Rescue any animal and you will see that it will rescue you as well.
