could not believe his eyes upon seeing the dolphins in living color. It's the next best thing to Dolphin Bay. Whatever you do, get there early for everyone wants a seat at this scenic bar.

Island Grill
Caribbean cuisine might feel misplaced in a Victorian village but Island Grill could change your mind. Tropical dishes are infused with Cajun and Caribbean flavors. My favorite is the oyster BLT with spiced matchstick sweet potato fries. Try the daily fish prepared blackened, broiled or sauteed. On special nights you could be treated to a roasted suckling pig with rice, beans and sweet corn on the cob. Bring a fruity wine or beer from the liquor store next door because the Island Grill is BYOB.

Bella Vida Cafe
What good is a beach town without a killer breakfast joint? Bella Vida is it for Cape May. Cozy up for a wholesome and innovative meal be it breakfast, lunch or on some nights, dinner. Try the crab Eggs Benedict fantastic for a hangover. Or have the breakfast burrito packed with vegetables. Perhaps fresh eggs and sausage call to you as they often do to me. Don't forget to order the whole grain toast that will do damage control on the cholesterol count. If you're a health foodie, finish with a freshly squeezed fruit juice or smoothie loaded with antioxidants.

Lucky Bones
Situated across the street from the Lobster House this newly opened establishment is fast winning a following. Known for the brick oven pizza, also try the mega proportioned appetizers like the carnita nachos or mussels marinara kicked up with the odd but surprisingly delicious addition of blue cheese chunks. Wash it down with a bottle of wine from the unexpectedly sophisticated wine selection. Try a South African Chardonnay to cool your whistle or a large well-shaken Cosmopolitan.

Magnolia Room at the Chalfonte Hotel
If Tyler Florence of the Food Network consulted this place to create the ultimate fried chicken, you know this place knows what it's doing. And Dot Burton and Lucille Thompson carry on their mother's tradition in southern style. Sit down for a 4 course country-style price fixe dinner of smothered pork chops, crab cakes or grilled fish. Accompaniments include jambalaya, hush puppies, sweet potato pie and rib sticking soups. If you want the famous friend chicken visit on a Wednesday or Sunday night. And ask for lots of napkins cause this chicken is totally finger licking good!

Harpoon Henry's on the Bay
Get your Margaritaville on in this sunny laid-back bar and restaurant. Situated by the Delaware Bay, Henry's offers the poor man's surf and turf shrimp and ribs plus lots of sandwiches and seafood platters. This relaxed joint welcomes flip flops, cheesy Hawaiian shirts and hats. Matter of fact, they sell t-shirts that make a fine souvenir. Order a cool and refreshing frozen margarita or one of the 250 other varieties as you watch the sun set on the Cape May beach.
