AN ODE FROM FATHER TO SON
The best ever son that a father could wish
With a ten year addiction to chuck one off from the wrist.
Growing ever more like me with the passing of days
With your constant mood changes and cynical ways.
The receding hairline you cover with a hat,
Devoid of grooming you are hairy and fat.
You shout at the TV
How the standards have dropped.
That the stars from your era
Will never be topped.
How the music today is nothing but noise,
But the bands from the past

What you see as your father
Is how you will be.
So happy birthday little son
Remember you're not the only one.
Once again best wishes to you
May all your hopes and dreams come true..
