All official documents and court proceedings should eliminate any reference to any kind of religious beliefs. We know the original Founding Fathers were very religious, mostly in the Church of England Protestant teachings. Calling on their concept of God in documents, courts, issuing of money and other official actions was normal and comfortable for them. That was more than 200 years ago, and it is no longer relevant in a multi-cultural society.
This opinion offends many Christians and other traditionalists who believe changing the rules now is a personal insult to them and to the history of the United States. However, religion has long been used as the reason for wars, oppression and genocide. We are living today in an era where Muslim fanatics use religion as an excuse for mass murder, and threaten to kill those of other religions throughout the world, including the destruction of the United States.
It is time to take literally the words of the U.S. Constitution and make a complete break between religion and government. No one in this country, even the most ardent atheists, want to ban people from pursuing their religious beliefs in private. However, religious freedom must also include freedom from religion imposed by law or other force.
