Alternative uses of microwaves

A couple of things you can put in your microwave to cause explosion and interesting effects in the process are: Grapes, Compact Disc's, a toothpick, Christmas ornaments, and soap. Warning: this could ruin your Microwave, and anytime, during these experiments, you run the risk of harming yourselves or others. We are not held responsible for your actions due to this information. Safety first, and act responsibly. Recommended to use a spare microwave, due to the probability that you might break it from the following experiments.

Grapes: Cut a grape in half, squeeze it gently against a plate, until a small amount of grape juice comes out onto the plate. Take the plate with the grape juice on it and the grape (both halves, only squeeze one of the halves onto the plate) place it in the microwave for 10 seconds, or until the grapes catch on fire. The grapes will slowly combust and be caught in flames. Unexpected from grapes.

Compact Disc (CD): Place the CD in the microwave, shiny part facing up, for 5 seconds. Any longer, and you risk the microwave reflecting it's own waves back at itself from the CD. The CD will become a spectacular light show, but in the process will ruin itself. The electricity will run through crackling the CD, rendering it useless

Toothpick: preferably find a cork and place a toothpick in it, with the head of the toothpick out (either end). Place inside microwave, set time, and watch your toothpick shoot out fire (colors of the flame vary). It will darken your microwave from the fumes. But, supposibly, no real harm done.

Christmas Ornament: same as the CD, but only brighter. Just insert in the microwave and enjoy the show. Ideal time set (10 seconds)After that, cool off, mabye able to retry once more. After that the ornament could erupt, shattering into little pieces. Remove the metal hinge at the bottom.

Soap: Place soap in the microwave, over a plate. Set for 3 minutes and watch it grow, and grow, and grow to amazing proportions.

Never in a million years, remove your Microwave Transmitor and turn it own. Radition will spill right out, causing serious bodily harm, starting with blindness.
