Poetry: Running away

by Polly Evans

Created on: May 21, 2007

I packed my bag
I brushed my teeth
He looked at me
He didn't see
That I was hurt
Deep down inside
That I was sad
But I was glad
Was leaving there
Going far away
He looked at me
He didn't see
I said goodbye
He asked me where
I was going to
Where was I going?
Said I didn't know
He said please don't go
I laughed at him
He made me chuckle
He didn't realize
That I am wise
I knew I had to go
Get away from him
He tried to stop me
He never lets me be
I am here now
Where is here now?
I ran way that day
Far, far away
I have a new home
I have a new life
I knew I would
And it feels good
