How to pretend you're enjoying your meal when you aren't

There is much more to 'enjoying' a meal, than the food! Be a spectacular dinner date or guest or companion! You can still enjoy the dinner, without enjoying the food! No need to pretend at all, just focus on whats great and ignore what you cannot tolerate!

First of all, dress for success!
Prior to your dinner engagement, dress appropriately for the setting. You can be casual, yet impeccably groomed and coiffed or fancy and "dressy" for a fabulous restaurant date! Always remember to use cologne and perfume ULTRA sparingly when dining. Usually the scent of your shower gel or soap and lotions will be plenty alluring during a meal. Looking your best, no matter the setting, will help you to feel confident and pleasant, setting the tone for a wonderful evening, despite your differences with the food! Factor in whom you are dining with and dress accordingly. Example, a date with a new flame? Women, wear high heels and dark pink or red lips! Studies show that men perceive women as "sexier" and "more stunning" in spikes and dark pink or red lips. They find it feminine and attractive, almost universally! If you want to up your chances of a second date (or, at least giving the prospect of one!) then consider those options. Now if you are dining with your most conservative Auntie and her friend, choose something that you know will complement her taste. You will be very gratified and feel so comfortable when she greets you with a genuine smile of approval and pleasure with your clothing selection! So, factor in these things BEFORE you arrive or receive guest or guests for your dinner.

During the meal, find something on your plate that isn't utterly offensive and nibble at that. Drink your drink, sip your water. Keep the conversation focused on anything BUT your meal. If directly asked, find something complimentary to say about one thing you sincerely like. Then, ask your companion what THEY like. Always smile with genuine love and regard for your companion. They will notice YOU and not anything negative.

If you are ill and simply cannot complete your dinner obligation, it is perfectly alright to apologize and leave. Everyone gets ill from time to time and no one should hold this against you! If you behave in a proper and courteous, gracious manner, your dining companion should understand. Remember, in the world of manners and etiquette, it is always paramount to make the other party feel comfortable and at ease. People who mind don't matter and people who matter, don't mind!
