Who do you consider the best drivers, men or women?

As a woman I am sure that most expect me to scream about how women are the better drivers but I can not. I do not believe that gender has anything to do with where or not someone is a good driver. There are a lot of things that make a good driver but gender is in no way related to any of them.

The best driver depends on circumstances. On the highway the best driver is the one that is SOBER. The best drivers are also alert and paying attention to the world around them. When you go to a race the best driver is the one that wins. On the highway you do not want to be the fastest.

So if it is on the highway the best drivers are:

Sober

A good driver never has a few drinks and gets behind the wheel of a car. Alcohol slows your reflexes and has a negative effect on judgment. An intoxicated person can see things that are not there and the vision can be blurred. The intoxicated person has no clue to how fast they may be going and they may or may not be swerving all over the road. The good driver is the one responsible enough to find someone else to take them where they need to go in the event they have had a drink.

Obey Laws

Driving at posted speed limits or below if the conditions differ from ideal is safest for all concerned. If vision is limited a person should not be driving at speeds that prohibit then from having the ability to react to sudden changes in the road or to animals running out in front of the car.

Alert.

A good driver is well rested. Fatigue can affect judgment and cause reflexes to slow. When on the road a delayed reflex can be the difference in life and death. You want a driver that is going to stop at red lights, stop signs and railroad tracks. Running through or across any of these without stopping is a great risk to your health and can shorten your life span a great deal.

The best driver is neither man nor woman but the one that gets you to your destination safely. Never ride with someone that is intoxicated; do not let them drive at all. Make sure that you know where you are at all times and that you are paying attention to your surroundings in case you get lost or break down so that you can tell help where to find you.

Remember a good driver is sober, alert and obeys the laws put in place for safety. When you get on the road it's not just your life that you put in your hands but the lives of everyone around you. Obey the laws, stay alert and don't drink before you get behind the wheel of a car.
