The mad rush to catch the plane after over sleeping was just so chaotic. Regretting leaving his packing until the last moment and now he was going nuts scrambling things he thought he might need into his case. His wife Anna was downstairs cooking him some breakfast and the smell wafted up to him teasingly. Did he have time, he checked his watch and heard the hoot of a car horn.
"Dave, cab's here." Anna called up. "And you better take your rain coat it's pouring down."
"OK." He shouted down and glanced about making sure he had got everything including his rain coat.
On the way out he grabbed a slice of toast and a short but passionate kiss off his wife before running out into the downpour and jumping into the cab.
Nearly on time he thought and asked the driver to put his foot down. During the ride to the Airport he checked his brief case and his suitcase on the seat next to him, making sure they were locked and that he had everything.

Arriving at the airport he paid the driver and raced into the terminal, which, even to him, seemed to be exceptionally packed. He paid no mind and shaking off the access water from himself and his Mac he pushed his way through to the check in desk. That's when he noticed the queue, and the flight board with all the canceled notices, then he heard the announcement.
"Due to averse weather conditions, all flights are canceled until further notice. Please see your respective representatives before making alternative arrangements. Thank you."
"Shit." He muttered under his breath, and reached for his mobile.
The taxi dropped him outside his house and he once again had to run through the down pour to reach his front door. He was so happy that he didn't have to take the trip. His boss wasn't too pleased but accepted it as soon as he heard the news, and the day was his.
He did everything almost
