Poetry: Pain from love

by Derrick Wales

Created on: May 21, 2007

Can't get away from you even if I tried. Can't feel a thing down to the bone I'm tied. Got an excuse for every step I take but no counter for the lie. Between the dream and sleep I'm torn. Another rose to scent the thorn. And no matter how many times I feel this hurt I just can't seem to learn. It's a jungle of emotion here inside. No faithless dreamings here residing. Just a tangled web of ways to hold me in this skin if only I could unzip this hell and hide. It's a swell inside like septic veins they crawl. Use a hurricane to catch my fall. Another pill to slip away from the fade that's sure to rip away us all. Of the dreams we've had and all the fears we've bred. Between you and I my love, the blood we've bled. It's a civic atrocity. It's revelation style haunting and there's nothing we can do but walk away from this mourning as we always have.
