Staring high into the sky I hope you can find your way into the clouds.
And I hope you find what you're looking for whatever it happens to be.
And whatever crown you find and place upon your head, I hope your proud.
And when you fall I hope that you find a way to land on your feet.
I understand that you're off to find your way.
Off to where you think that you belong.
And when it comes around, when you find reality.
Remember what it's like to be alone.
When the shackles hit the floor you run, so where did you go?
I hope you find a way to patch up the scars you're bound to show.
And when you see I come back around, don't tell me what you're going through.
I've been there and that's why I've been here warning you.
I understand that you're off to find your way.
Off to where you think that you belong.
And when it comes around, when you find reality.
Remember what it's like to be alone.
You're so self-righteous.
Everything you say is right.
And when you feel the emptiness.
Remember that I tried.
When you come back down.
Remember the past you hide.
Though it'll seem the same after awhile.
Remember what you held inside.
I understand that you're off to find your way.
Off to where you think that you belong.
And when it comes around, when you find reality.
Remember what it's like to be alone.
And I wish I understood why you want to hurt me.
I wished you knew what I am going through.
And when the ground gives you it's kiss my love,
I hope you think about the things you do.
But I understand that you're off to find your way.
Off to where you think that you belong.
And when it comes around, when you find reality.
Remember what it's like to be alone.

She's Gone, But Not Forgotten
She's gone but not forgotten, and I'm at home here, all alone.
It used to be the place we shared,

"Emptiness"
Lying here waiting
Thoughts churning in my head
Painstakingly turning
While I am tangled in my bed
Defeat pours over
Corner of the loveseat while the sun sets behind closed blinds
Cigarette burns low
The neighbors phone rings off the hook
While

My Own Arms
Here inside four walls
resting in my chair
I turn to say I love you
knowing you're not there.
I took for granted
They flow in pairs
they walk in light
I sit alone
in a cold, dark night
I call out
but my cries lack sound
I have no voice
no words
