Bose, Sony, Samsung, and Panasonic are among the many major manufacturer's that offer home thester in-a-box sytems (HTIBs) to consumers. Having all the components
required in one box is the greatest feature of these systems. Set-up is easier
and less confusing. They are economical and affordable.
Prices range from $90.00 and up. RCA has the RTD207 model which retails for $99.00.
It's gotten some superb reviews even though it's inexpensive. This little bundle
features a dvd changer, speaker system, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, surround
sound with 250 watt output power and an infrared remote control.
Prices vary according to the number of features and/or components. Do you want
progressive scanning or a parental lock included? Is it important to have on-screen
display. You can even purchase a system with slow motion mode if you so desire.
More expensive THIB's will include more powerful speakers.
Bose's Lifestyle 48 III retails for $3999.99 and the promise to rock your world.
It's 5.1 surround sound system tauts up to 800 watts of power which makes it
among the finest home theater in-a-box system available today.
For those who have further interest in the HTIBs with a Dvd player, CNET had
them listed as:
ONKYO HT-S907 (8.3 editor ranking) Excellent,
SONY DAV-X1V (7.7 editor ranking) Very Good,
JVC DD-3 Sophisti (7.4 editor ranking) Very Good,
Panasonic SC-HT940 (7.3 editor ranking) Very Good,
JVC TH-C30 (7.3 editor ranking) Very Good,
Philips HTS6500 (7.3 editor ranking) Very Good
Yamaha YHT-670 (7.0 editor ranking) Very Good
These ranking scores updated on May 14, 2007 by John P. Falcone, Senior Editor
of CNET. Although space will not permit me to share the entire list, this
gives the amateur buyer of HTIBs a better understanding of higher quality
systems.
It's good to note that most consumers prefer to buy their home theater systems
this way.
