How to Choose Your Wedding Cake

Every woman dreams of her ideal wedding day - marrying the perfect man, buying the perfect gown, wearing the perfect ring, and preparing for everyone's favorite: the perfect wedding cake. Being one of the main showcases of the wedding reception, choosing a wedding cake involves different steps that must be taken into consideration in order to create a beautiful center piece that guests will not only love to admire, but love to eat as well.

Size:
Knowing how big a wedding cake should be is extremely important since the bride and the groom must prepare to have enough helpings for everyone! The best idea is to have an estimate of how many guests will be attending, giving better judgment as to how large the cake must be.

Price:
Trust me, paying a Baker based on expertise and experience is definitely a must have when dealing with this aspect of the wedding cake, and is not one of the areas that any bride and groom want to skip out on. To get the best idea of prices, do some research and call around to find out what the general cost is for a wedding cake, and base a reasonable price off of those figures.

Design:
The design and features of the cake itself are two of the most important aspects when choosing the perfect wedding cake, since it will be eaten and seen by just about everyone at the wedding. Yet, such features may take time, so the bride and the groom might want to plan ahead if they are looking to incorporate colors from the actual wedding, or if there is any kind of theme or specific deasign that needs to be included. This process may be easier if a Baker is provided with these specific embellishments, through photos or magazines, of cakes that are preferred, so the baker has an idea of the type of work is ahead.

Perfect Taste:
Often times, some cakes look amazing, but taste downright awful! Other times, these cakes look unedible but taste delicious. To prevent this from happening, make sure your Baker will allow you to taste your choices! Bakers will offer different fillings and different frosting's, so make sure to taste them all before making any decisions.

With all of these ideas in mind, have fun decorating, tasting, and shopping around for fun, creative ways to make your wedding PERFECT.
