Okay, bit of a deep, even spiritual one now folks.
"Oh no here he goes again!" No don't even think it! just stick with me for this one and see what you think ok?
Okay, so I've been reflecting on life recently, you know, the purpose of life. "Why are we here?" "What does it all mean?" Yadda yadda yadda.
And I've come to a pretty cool conclusion, so see what you think:
Okay, you're born disorientated and dependent on others. You grow up to be (almost) independent and you work your butt off. Then you grow old, become disorientated and solely dependent on others and then you die. But why? I've been trying to work that one out for ages.
My outlook on it is, we are ALL born for a purpose. Yes folks, every single one of us, each and every person on this earth WAS born for a purpose. A calling, which one day we will fulfill, and we may not even know it!
Some people will grow up to be great leaders and pioneers, cure cancer, stop a war and save thousands of lives. And some will not.
Just because your deeds are left out of the history books, it doesn't make them less worthy, less valiant, or less deserving of the title 'good deed'.
Whether it be finding a lost child in the middle of town, before someone more sinister comes across them. Whether it be answering a frightened woman's screams in a dark alleyway one night. Even listening to the sobbing words of a hurt friend or family member to keep them from despair.
Every person reading this, and those that are not, will perform ONE deed in their lifetime that will truly change somebodies life forever.
Some of these deeds will span a lifetime, as I said, stopping a war, curing cancer. These are things that can not be done in a day. But most of these deeds will be over in an instant.
The funny thing is that you may not even realize how important your course of action actually was in the great scheme of things. You may never realize how much your deeds have changed somebodies life, how the effects of your actions may still be felt for many years to come.
Told you it was deep eh? Stay with me.
Lets use an example: A lost wallet.
Strolling through Tescos one day, you find a wallet on the floor. Inside is a 20 note, some old receipts, a driving license and a tatty photograph. Instead of taking the money and dropping the wallet, you hand it in.
That person later comes looking, and finds the wallet at lost property. They're not interested in the money inside, not even in the driving license. All that matters to them is that they have their photograph
