Pipi's Song
Little Girl, your mother calls to you
In voices calm, and strong, and fall of mother's hope
Little girl, attend her well, she was once as you.
Full of play, of joy, and in wonder at it all.
Young Girl, your Mother calls you still
Did you leave the room last night?
Did you sneak outside to Play
At finding love, in friendship's way
Young Girl, attend her well,
she was once as you
lover's real, and imagined too
lit up her young girls soul
Oh Lady, your mother calls to you,
her voice now still, echoes in your heart
the million lessons she shared with you
And you know, that is always true
she was once as you
She cried the night her lover's scorn
drove her to despair
She laughed at life, and cried in joy
on the day that you were born
and yes, like you she smiled down
at the little girl within her arms
and shared her life, her wisdom yet
the unbroken line from eve
Old woman, your daughter calls to you
In voices calm, and strong, and full of daughter's love
On this, your last day here
she thanks you for all you've done
In happiness you know the truth,
She is you, as once you were
She is you...

Spend the day getting dirty.
Play all day in the sun.
Make mud pies and serve up plenty,
come in and play in the tub.
