My earliest memory, rather one that really stands out for me is getting a bike for my birthday when I was younger. My parents were young and bought the bike for me for a christmas present. The bike was way too big and it took me forever to learn how to ride it. I had plenty of falls, and scrapes to prove it.
Anyways.
I remember going outside in the morning to go and ride my bike. I had my Barbie tennis shoes and the flourescent shoestrings. Mind you, this was in the late 1980's. I remember peddling down the concrete sidewalk and the worst thing happens. My shoestring on my left foot unties and gets caught in the peddle something awful. Its so wrapped around there I tip over and began to panic because I couldn't get up by myself because of the predicament that I was in. After about fifteen minutes of screaming and hollering for my mother she came running down from the apartment and helped me.
