Essays: War in Iraq

The war in Iraq: should we be there, should we not? I truly have no opinion on the matter though I think that I should being as how I am extremely opinionated about everything. But, when I think about coming up with a side to take I immediately begin thinking, "Does it really matter what I think? Could what I think truly make a difference in this war?"
Immediately after asking myself these questions and a couple of more, I begin to wonder if other people feel the same way that I do. There must be someone who thinks that it is ridiculous to have an opinion about something in which they have no say in anyways. But, do we truly have no say in the matter? Is it possible to one person can truly "make a difference"?

After asking myself these other two questions I realize that not believing that one person can "make a difference" in something as complicated as a war is like believing that one person cannot make a difference in something as simple as an election. Now, if you would know me, you would know that I am a big advocate of the whole "one vote can make a difference." So, if I believe that one simple vote can make a difference, why not believe that one person's belief and/or opinion on the war can "move mountains."
And so, that leaves me with the thought that I have to make up my mind about what to think on the war. But, to me it seems easier to just "google" some information on the war and see what the war correspondents and analysts are saying and to take their "words for it." And that leaves me with this: maybe it is best for me not to have an opinion on the war if I am not going to act upon it. What good will it do me to have an opinion if I am going to do nothing about it? For, what is an opinion without action but a mere opinion?
In conclusion, I believe that it is way more important to have a reason behind your opinion. But, more important than having an opinion which has a reason behind it is having an opinion and acting upon it. Because if one is going to have an opinion without action, one might as well not have that opinion.
